The Holy Christ of Mercy

The work is inspired by studies of the crucifixion based on mechanical, anatomical, legal medicine and physical anthropology experiments, contributed by research on the Holy Shroud of Turin and the Holy Shroud of Oviedo. The postmortem lesion attributed to a spear that, with an upward and oblique trajectory, entered the thoracic cavity, stands out. "... one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out" John, 19: 33-34.

Christ of Medinaceli

This image shows Jesus presented to the people by Pilate. In 1621 it was taken by Capuchin missionaries to Morocco, where it was captured by a Turkish sultan. Some Trinitarian religious managed to rescue it. It was taken to Madrid, placed in a chapel built on land donated by the Duke of Medinaceli. The faithful of our parish venerate it in the Chapel of Our Lord of Miracles, and it leaves in solemn procession on Good Friday each year.

The Lord of Esquipulas

The Lord of Esquipulas, also known as the Black Christ, is an image of Jesus Crucified carved at the request of the town of Esquipulas in Guatemala in 1595. Since then it has been the subject of fervent adoration of millions of faithful from Guatemala and other Central American countries.

The Lord of Miracles

This title venerates Jesus Crucified, originally painted on an adobe wall in a slum of Lima in 1646. For the many miracles attributed to the image, it became known as the Lord of the Miracles. Our parish keeps it in its own chapel, celebrating it every year with Mass and procession for the Peruvian community of Miami.

The Macarena

La Macarena, or Virgin of the Esperanza Macarena, is venerated in the Basilica of the Macarena neighborhood of Seville. In our parish her image accompanies the faithful in the Blessed Sacrament chapel and leaves in solemn procession every Good Friday.

Our Lady of Altagracia

The Church of the Mission of Alta Gracia has a canvas with the image of the Virgen de la Alta Gracia, framed in a high relief with gilded candlesticks. She is invoked as mother and protector of the Dominican people, venerated since colonial times in the town of Higuey, where a basilica was built for her.

Our Lady of Mercy

This devotion began on August 1, 1218, when the Virgin Mary appeared to St. Peter Nolasco, founder of the Order of Mercy. In the chapel of the Lord of the Miracles of our parish, she is venerated in a small image. She has been invoked since the thirteenth century as protector and redeemer of captives, and is patron of the Dominican Republic.

Our Lady of Guadalupe

In our Mother Church, next to the main altar, there is a canvas with the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, as she appeared to San Juan Diego on the hill of Tepeyac, Mexico, in 1531. She is venerated as patroness of Mexico and Latin America; our parish has venerated her since December 12, 1959.

Our Lady of Pilar

According to Christian tradition, in the year 40 the Virgin Mary appeared to the Apostle James in Caesaraugusta, leaving as testimony of her visit a jasper column popularly known as "el Pilar". The original image is a late Gothic sculpture from 1435 attributed to Juan de la Huerta.

Our Lady of Grace

The Miraculous Medal is patron of one of the missions of our parish. She is venerated under the invocation with which the Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Catherine Labouré on November 27, 1830, in Paris. Devotion to her medal has been associated with many miracles.

Our Lady of Fatima

In the temple of the Mission San Roberto Belarmino, the Virgin Mary of Fatima is venerated, as she appeared to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal, between May 13 and October 13, 1917, calling for prayer of the rosary for the conversion of sinners and peace in the world.

La Caridad del Cobre

Our Lady of Charity, also known as Our Lady of El Cobre, is a popular Marian title of the Blessed Virgin Mary known in many Catholic countries. The image is enshrined in the National Shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Charity of El Cobre, near Santiago de Cuba, and she is designated Patroness of Cuba. Her feast day is September 8.

St. Terese of the Andes

Chile's first saint, canonized by Pope John Paul II, devoted her life to the Lord as a barefoot Carmelite religious. She died at age 19 after a painful illness borne in a spirit of atonement. Her body rests in San Felipe, a center of mass pilgrimages, especially for young people. Her image is exposed in the Mother Church.

St. Roberto Bellarmine

On October 1, 2009, St. Robert Bellarmine Parish became a new mission of our parish, Corpus Christi. In the temple of this mission is a picture of this saint, who belonged to the Society of Jesus, entering Rome in 1562. He was bishop and cardinal, and was declared Doctor of the Church for his defense of the faith.

Saint Joseph

Saint Joseph is venerated in our parish in three images: in the Holy Family group at the Mother Church, in the temple of the Mission San Roberto Belarmino, and a small image in the Blessed Sacrament chapel.

St. John the Baptist

In the atrium of the Church of Mission San Juan Bautista is a bronze sculpture of St. John the Baptist as a child before an octagonal font with a water jet, recalling the Jordan River where he baptized Jesus and reminding the faithful of their own baptism.

St. Francis and St. Claire

The Church of Mission San Francisco y Santa Clara has images of both saints beside the main altar: St. Francis of Assisi, the saint of poverty and joy in the Lord, and St. Claire of Assisi, carrying a monstrance with the Blessed Sacrament.
