Meeting Miami-Dade's Medical Needs

For over three decades, with the support of our volunteer physicians and staff, the St. John Bosco Clinic has been meeting the medical needs of those who come to our doors. We are funded solely through the generosity of community partners and philanthropic individuals, corporations, and foundations who recognize the need in our community — and the true difference their support can make.

Those we help have different life stories, faces, and nationalities. They are the young, the old, the working poor, and the unemployed — but they share one need in common: access to healthcare, and difficulty meeting that need for themselves and their families.

Our History

1992

Sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Augustine, Florida, the Clinic opens at St. John Bosco Church in Little Havana, in response to the growing number of underserved and uninsured residents lacking basic primary care.

Growth

Service expands from one half-day a week in a small area of the building to five days a week, with nights and weekend access, in its own stand-alone clinic.

2007

The Clinic relocates to its current home on the campus of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Allapattah, where it continues to serve the community today.

Today

Supported by the SSJ Health Foundation, volunteer physicians, and generous community partners — individuals, corporations, and foundation grants make it possible to keep serving Miami-Dade.
